Japanese Food 100 – #70 Ohitashi

Ohitashi is one of the traditional Japanese way of cooking.
Japanese has been making Ohitashi since 7th century.
Ohitashi can be done very simply where ingredients are boiled and prepared properly and flavoured with dashi broth, sweet sake and soy sauce.
Shredded dried bonito is used as a garnish.
Leafy green vegetables such as spinach or variety of mushrooms is used for main ingredients for Ohitashi.
