Sukiyaki is a hot pot dish. Unlike Syabu-Syabu, Sukiyaki is cooked in special shallow iron pan.
It’s made up by usually thinly sliced beef or chicken, vegetables, Ito-konnyaku (noodle shaped konnyaku), Tofu and othe ingredients.

The first step of making Sukiyaki is that we blend soy sauce with sugar and make the liquid for simmering the ingredients.
But, now well prepared liquid base is available at supermarkets.
You can easily make sukiyaki with it.

Before being eaten, the ingredients are usually dipped in a small bowl of raw, beaten eggs.

The interesting fact is that ingredients of Sukiyaki in Kanto area including Tokyo and kansai area including Osaka and how to cook it are different.
