Japanese Food 100 – #9 Gyoza

Gyoza (Dumpling) is originally a Chinese food but since it has been in Japan for a long time It is said that Gyoza came from China is in Edo period, especially, from 1630 to 1700) , Japanese Gyoza differ from the original Chinese Gyoza.
Unlike Gyoza is served as boiled in China, in Japan, Gyoza are usually served as pan-fried.
Gyoza is made up by garlic, leek, meats, other ingredients and spices wrapped by thin sheets made from wheat flour.
You can eat Gyoza at specialized Gyoza restaurants and Chinese restaurants. Some restaurants offer deep fried Gyoza. Like Curry-Rice, in each home and at each restaurant has its own devised recipe.
